Entry to Mid-Level GIS Analyst
Earth Data Incorporated has an immediate, full-time opening for an enthusiastic entry/mid-level GIS analyst to join our team!
Earth Data is a field-oriented groundwater and geospatial consulting company located in Centreville, Maryland, specializing in the collection, analysis, management and distribution of data. The ideal candidate for this position will have knowledge and/or experience in the areas of image analysis, DEM analysis, and geospatial digitizing and attribution using ArcGIS.
Potential GIS analysts will use ArcGIS 10.x for detailed analysis of dense urban areas as well as DEM analysis; identify, digitize, and attribute key features using ArcGIS ArcEditor Tools. Training will be provided for the specific features to identify, digitize, and attribute.
Use ArcGIS 10.x to analyze imagery in dense urban areas.
Based on image analysis, digitize features using ArcEditor tools. Experience in the use of ArcEditor tools is a fundamental requirement.
Detailed attribution of features will require attention to detail and ability to interpret traditional hard copy city maps.
Extensive use and familiarity with ArcGIS attribute tables is required.
Daily self QC of work completed including spatial review and attribute table review is required.
Familiarity with ArcGIS mxd setups and setting data source paths is required.
Work hours will follow 8-hour day shifts / 40-hour weeks Monday through Friday with potential for overtime.
B.S. in Geography, Computer Science or a related course of study.
Experience working in ArcGIS is essential.
Familiarity with digitizing features from imagery.
Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
